The end is coming soon and it's time to prepare your final assignments. Please make sure you submit all of your final drafts Tuesday April 28 for grading. .................My hometown, St. Stephen is a small but busy town. The population of St. Stephen is less than 5000 people and it's decling approximately 5% per year. However, it doubles during the summer because of the number of tourists that pass through. St. Stephen shares 2 border crossings with America and they are the busiest border crossings on the east coast. This makes St. Stephen one of the busiest towns on the East coast of Canada. Even though it's a small ghost town in the winter, it's a happening place the rest of the year.

For those who were absent, there's no new homework tonight. You only have to complete your final draft of your hometown assignment (Assignment 10). We will spend the next two classes studying Unit 8 which is about writing biographies and autobiographies. We will complete our last rough draft in class on Thursday and your remaining final drafts (Assignment 11&12) will be due on Tuesday April 28. If you can't get to class, please make sure you send them to me by email so I can get them back to you.

.................... I am very thoughtful person but sometimes very stubborn. Once I have an idea in my head, it's it very difficult for myself and others to change my mind. For example, these days I really want to buy a new car. My husband tells me there's nothing wrong with my car but I still want to buy one. It's been almost 4 months now and I can't stop thinking about it no matter how hard I try. I know myself and this will haunt me until the day I buy it. Another example is work. If I decide to do something both at work and at home, I can't rest until it's done. I often stay up until 3 or 4 am doing things that could wait until the next day. However, no matter how stubborn I may sound, I always put my family and loved ones first.

...............My bedroom is my most favorite room in the house. First, it's my favorite room because it's spacious. Even though there's a large bed, two night stands, a large plant and a fishtank in my room, there's still plenty of room to move around. Another reason why I like this room is because it is full of bright and happy colors. The blend of red and orange gives it a very warm feeling. My most favorite thing about this room is my bed. It is very comfortable and the bedding is silk. It soft, warm in winter, cool in summer and it's pretty. I spend as much time as I can in my room and everyone in my family knows where to find me if I'm not in the kitchen.
..........During the week, my niece's days are all about school. She gets up at 6:00 am, gets ready and leaves for school around 6:50am. She has classes from 8:00 to 5:00 and then she has dinner with her friends. After dinner, she takes evening classes at her school and studies until 10:00pm. She is a high school student and will graduate next February, so she has to spend every free moment of her day studying. After she finishes studying, she takes the bus home and studies at home until 2:00 or 3:00 am. At the end of the day, she's tired but she has to study hard if she wants to go to university.
..........Staying healthy and getting fit is very challenging. First, my work schedule is irregular, so it' s hard to keep to a routine. For example, I often have to work late or come in early to teach a class. This makes it very difficult to stick to any exercise regime. Second, I hardly ever eat at home. I often eat out with my colleagues and even though Korean food is healthy, it's hard to eat healthy food all the time. Third, I have a lot of stress in my life which isn't good for your health. I try to read as much as I can and do as many extracurricular activities as possible to relieve stress. All in all, it's extremely challenging to lead a healthy life when you're always busy worrying about others instead of yourself.

..............Every day of the week is busy. On weekdays, I get up early in the morning, prepare breakfast and see my husband off to work. After that, I usually do a few house chores, take a shower and get myself ready for the day. Then I prepare lunch for my father-in-law and I, clean up and leave for work at 12:20. I work from one until 8 pm and then I tie up some loose ends at work before heading home. When I get home, my dogs are waiting to be taken for their walk, so I change my clothes, get them ready and go out for a short stroll around the neighborhood. After that, even though I'm quite tired, I sit and chat with my husband about our day. By midnight, I'm ready to curl up in bed with a good book. The weekends are very similar to the weekdays except I work at home instead of at the office. I still get up early, prepare breakfast, see my husband off to school and do house chores. I prepare meals for my family, walk the dogs and enjoy life. It's a never ending cycle which makes for a busy life no matter what day it is.

Special Easter dinner - Ham with pineapple sauce, creamy potatoes, vegetables and carrot cake for dessert.
..............When I free time, I enjoy doing many different kinds of things. I spend most of my free time these days cooking. I surf the internet for recipes and then cook them. My family appreciates my effort even though the food isn't overly delicious sometimes. I also spend some of my free time doing pottery. I just finished making a set of soju cups, and I'm going to start making a set of dishes next week. I would like to spend more time doing pottery, but I'm too busy doing other things. Another thing I like to do is read. If I'm not too tired at night, I like to lie in bed and read. I often read suspense novels and it's hard to put it down and go to bed. I sometimes end up staying up reading all night if the book is really good, but I try not to do that often. These days I've started taking up scrapbooking which isn't popular in Korea. Now that spring is here I'm hoping to get out more and go for picnics which is my most favorite thing to do when I have free time. Free time is not plentiful becasue I have a full-time job and a family however I always manage to fit one of these into my busy schedule every day.

...............My best friend, Nicole, is an amazing woman. She is in her early fourties and happily single. She's adventurous and loves traveling. She's always thinking about where she wants to travel to next. She has backpacked across Europe, camped in the Gobi desert, and been on an African saffari. She's also one of the smartest people I know. She knows everything about eveything. Whenever I have a question about something, she's always the first person I ask. She is a fun person to hangout with, too. She can have a good time not matter where she is, and she gets along well with everyone. I'm very lucky to have a friend like her.

My mom is a busy woman. She is the senior nurse in a small senior citizens home and she has a lot of responsibilities. She sometimes works double shifts especially when people are sick and tries to talk to the patients as much as possible. When she's not working she's cleaning her home or out with her friends. She's very talkative, so she likes meeting friends every chance she gets. She always says that her friends keep her sane. My mom also loves traveling. She came to Korea for two weeks in January and she's visiting my brother in America right now. She is sometimes so busy that it's hard to catch her at home. Even though my mom is busy, she always finds time to call me to make sure I'm well.

I hope you had a nice weekend. The weather was great except for a little rain Saturday night, so I hope you got to spend some time outside.
Anyhow, I had a busy weekend. I went to my pottery class Friday night and Saturday which was fun. After my class on Saturday, I went shopping with a friend and spent lots of money. Then I stayed home Sunday, did my house chores which included cooking for my family and my husband I went to a friends house for dinner.
I started watching season 5 of Greys Anatomy this weekend which was a nice change because I haven't had time to watch any English TV or movies lately. I have all of the files (only english) if anyone's interested.

............... I have a small but very eager group of students. Each student has their own writing style which makes every assignment unique. Some students are stronger writers than others but they also struggle with correct grammar, word choice and thought organization. Most students come to class on time and are dedicated to improving their English writing skills. However, they don't seem to be very interested in blogging and I hope that changes with time and encouragement. They are a small group but they all have one thing in common which is their desire to improve their writing skills.
...............I am a very considerate person. I was like a mom to my younger brother and sister because my mother worked full-time. It was my responsibility to make sure their homework was done, they ate dinner, took a bath and got to bed on time. I always had to put others first which is a habit I haven't been able to break. I never considered this a bad characteristic until I realized that people were taking advantage of my kindness. I try to put myself first these days but I often get an overwhelming feeling of selfishness. I respect people who are selfish because I think it requires a strong sense of self-esteem but I never want to be that person. I would like to find a happy medium so wish me luck!
